Diving Mozambique
Shark Diving Adventure – Mozambique 8th-20th November 2026
Join Big Squid for 2 weeks of shark diving in Southern Mozambique. We’ll be diving the reefs around Ponta do Ouro, Ponta Malongane and Ponta Mamoli, which are home to some of the best shark diving in the region.
This area has recorded 16 different shark species, and the focus of the trip is to dive with as many of them as possible.
The main species you may encounter include: Tigers, Bulls, Hammerheads, Silver-tips, Blacktips, Grey reef sharks, Whitetip reef sharks, Leopard sharks, Dusky sharks, Ragged-tooth sharks, Guitar sharks, and Whale sharks
The reefs are productive and busy, so whilst sharks are the main draw, you’ll also see plenty of other marine life including whales, dolphins, turtles, mantas, devil rays, eagle rays, ribbon-tail rays, eels, game fish and countless reef fish.
Accommodation
We’ll be based at Gala-Gala Eco Resort in Ponta do Ouro, a small town in the far south of Mozambique, about 1.5 hours from Maputo and just north of the South African border. The resort has a mix of accommodation options – deluxe bungalows, reed cabanas, and luxury campsites – all with decent beds and Star Link Wi-Fi. There’s a pool on site, parking, and a café. Beyond the diving, you can arrange deep-sea fishing or kite surfing if you fancy it.
