During your stay, you will dive some of the best shark diving sites in Ponta do Ouro, these include Ponta Malongane and Ponta Mamoli. You will dive with the many species of shark found around these waters including tigers, bulls, hammerheads, oceanic blacktips, ragged-tooth, dusky, and guitar sharks.
The diving takes place on the reefs between Ponta Do Ouro, Ponta Malongane and Ponta Mamoli.
This region offers some of the best shark and reef diving in Mozambique.
This destination has seen, in total, 16 different shark species with the main sightings including;
- Tiger
- Bull
- Hammerhead
- Silver-tip
- Black-tip
- Grey reef,
- Whitetip reef,
- Leopard,
- Whale
The main focus on the trip is to dive with as many shark species as possible.
The reefs are also home to a variety of other marine life including whales, dolphin, turtles, manta, devil rays, eagle rays, ribbon tails rays, eels, game fish, and many species of reef fish.
Accommodation
Ponta Do Ouro is a small town in the extreme south of Mozambique approximately one and a half hours from Maputo and just north of the border of South Africa.
ScubaAddicts Dive Resort is centrally situated on Ponta Do Ouro and is within strolling distance of a small town and lively market.
The lodge itself boasts incredible views over the ocean and every room is air-conditioned and has ensuite facilities. The on-site dive centre means that you can roll out of bed and start diving with no local transfers to worry about.
