Tec 40
Introduction
This course takes you past recreational diving and immerses you in the world of technical diving.
If you’re interested in technical diving but haven’t yet met the prerequisites for the Tec 45 Diver course, you can consider enrolling in the Tec 40 course. It is the first subdivision of the full Tec Deep Diver course and consists of the first four dives. The course can be done using side mount if required.
Content
You will learn about equipment rigging, gas planning, team diving, technical hand signals, gas shutdown drills, gas switching, long hose gas sharing, lift bag deployment, use of deco cylinders, equipment and gas failure procedures, diver emergencies and rescue drills, oxygen management, deco computer software, executing deco stops.
After successful completion of the course, you’ll be able to conduct gas-switch extended no-deco dives, and deco dives using enriched air (up to 50%), to add conservatism, to a depth of 40m.

Age 18+, Advanced Open Water (or equivalent), Enriched Air Diver, Deep Diver, Dry Suit Diver, 50 logged dives.
