Thirsty Squid drinks will on Tuesday the 1st May and Tuesday 5th June at the Railway pub in Clapham. We will be there from 7pm onwards. All are welcome to attend.

Big Squid Curry Night 10th April

The Lahore Kebab House is a Squid favourite as they have a tasty menu and offer very reasonably priced dishes. They can generally accommodate special dietary requirements on request and also have plenty of food for both meat lovers and vegetarians. The restaurant is not licensed, so please bring your own alcoholic drinks along with you (there is an off licence conveniently located across the road!). Squids go Night Diving

Wraysbury Dive Centre will be open for Tuesday night dives soon and the Squid van will be heading down there on Tuesday 15th May and we will be heading off for a night dive.
This is a great chance to experience a night dive if you haven’t before and also just a bit of fun for those who just fancy a dive. You will need to bring an underwater torch.
If you need to hire any kit or just tanks and weights, please contact Big Squid at least 48 hours in advance so we can ensure we have packed everything for you. The on site cafe will be serving food and drinks for you to enjoy pre or post dive (or both!). Entry to the dive site is £10 which must be paid in cash at the site please (food and drink at the site also need to be paid for in cash). Kit hire can be arranged with Big Squid.

Big Squid in Marsa Shagra Egypt

15 of us spent a great week diving in Marsa Shagra, Egypt from the 15th to the 22nd March. We had unseasonably good weather and some of the group managed to swim with dolphins and a whale shark.

Diving Lundy with Big Squid

July 7th and 8th 2018

Why not join us on our tyrip to Luindy Island in July. Lundy is positioned off the coast of North Devon, at the point where the Atlantic ocean joins the Bristol Channel. There is no land between Lundy and America. The Island is essentially a granite outcrop, three and a half miles in length and half a mile in width. Lying in the middle of nowhere, it is unique, peaceful and unspoilt.

Diving St Abbs with Big Squid

August 4th and 5th 2018

The sleepy fishing village of St Abbs is located in the beautiful Scottish borders, just north of Berwick upon Tweed. The St Abbs and Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve contains relatively deep water close inshore and strong tidal movement which combine to provide some of the easiest and best shore diving in Britain. The visibility is often stunning and there is a chance to spot the elusive wolf fish. Read more

Congratulations to James and Thomas for completing Big Squids coldest ever open water qualifying dives at just 2 degrees c. Big Squids first ever all welsh dive team of Faye Mark and Rob ran the course.

Portland 28-29th April 2018

Dry Suit Divers join Big Squid on a weekend scuba diving trip to Portland.
We will be diving  dive sites comprising wrecks and reefs max depth 30m.
On this trip we are planning to dive on the M2 submarine wreck
On Past visits to Portland we have spotted: Red Mullet, Turbot, Dogfish, Greater Pipe Fish, Lesser Sand Eel, Garfish, Tom Pot Blenny, Pollack, Mackerel, Cork Wing Wrasse, Cuttlefish. Trigger Fish, Giant Jellyfish and Spider Crabs,

Location & Accommodation

Arriving on Friday evening, we stay for 2 nights in the Royal Breakwater Hotel, steeped in rich naval history.
We depart from Portland on Sunday afternoon. Big squid cannot offer transport to and from Portland however we can try to arrange a lift for you with other members of the group on a fuel share basis.
