This Big Squid escorted dive camping expedition is for those with a sense of adventure.
The small settlement of Marsa shagra has its own house reef which offers diving at a range of depths both shallow and deep dive sites. This location is great for those with all levels of experience as it is possible to ease into safe easy dive sites and gradually challenge yourself at the the more advanced sites, its also an ideal place for taking Open Water Qualifying Dives and Advanced courses. There are great night dives to be had here with a good chance of seeing free swimming moray eels.
2 truck dives a day are available on these you get the opportunity to visit other local sites up and down the coast as well as unlimited use of the on site boats on the house reef.
There are bigger boats which go further away but there is a 10 Euro charge/ dive for these and if you would like to go further away to Dolphin House Reef or Elphinstone (experienced divers only) then this incurs a 25 Euro charge/ dive. these charges are payable locally.

Famous sites such as Elphinstone, Abu Dabab , Nakari( dolphin house reef) which is home to a pod of Spinner Dolphins. are within easy access. Abu Dabab with its turtles and Dugong
Diving Options
The diving is unlimited as many as you like in a day!
- Truck dives leave twice a day and roam up and down the surrounding coast line (they are included in the price)
- Zodiacs are at your service to drop you at various points on the house reef (they are included in the price)
- Long range zodiac trips to Elphinstone and other reefs (these cost extra)
- Courses Big squid offer a variety of courses on this trip at discounted prices
We will be staying in spacious tents right on the Red sea's edge surrounded by reef, sand and stars. The tents contain comfortable camping beds and electricity. Plenty of opportunity for relaxing, as well as diving, spend time in the Bedouin cafe smoking a shisha pipe and drinking Bedouin coffee, or just lay out and soak up the rays.
There is an upgrade option of the Mandarah huts which cost an additional £50 on a twin share basis and include twin beds and communal toilet facilities. The single supplement is £95.
The most comfortable option is to stay in the Madyafa Chalets which have en suite facilities and 2 terraces. These cost an additional £120 on a twin share basis or £130 for a room with air conditioning. The single supplement is £95.

Visa
The Egyptian Visa is obtained upon arrival at the airport in Egypt for £15 for EU passport holding citizens though you may prefer to arrange it before your departure.
