Numerous wrecks, prolific
sea life, spectacular underwater scenery and good visibility Join big squid for a weekends diving off the
coast of Plymouth which is renowned as having some of the
best diving in the country .We will be staying in delightful
accommodation
close to the harbor.
Our diving vessel Explorer
is a 40ft Way Marine dive vessel named Explorer, she was originally
designed to operate mid channel which makes her a very stable
dive platform, she currently has the largest covered clear
deck of any vessel operating out of Plymouth which can accommodate
10 divers and kit with ease.
Dive boat Explorer has recently been refitted
to provide a quality, safe diving environment she boasts a
rear diver recovery lift, large kit bench and a deck toilet.
Explorer has all the safety equipment required by the MCA
and is coded to operate 60 miles from the port of Plymouth.
For diver safety we always operate with two
commercially endorsed dive charter skippers on board, both
are DAN 02 Oxygen administrators possessing good knowledge
of all the local dive sites and the local environment; we
can accommodate all scuba diving skill levels from the novice
to the expert.
The tidal run here
is small even on spring tides so diving is unaffected most
of the time
The most famous site is Eddystone
reef 12 miles south west of Plymouth, which has pinnacles
and very good visibility.
Other sites close to here are are Hand deeps
and East Rutts a great rock dive 12 m on top with drop offs to
35 meters
