The Search & Recovery course comprises 4 open water dives which are conducted over at least 2 days. This course concentrates on the techniques and applications of a variety of search and recovery methods.
During the course you will learn:
- Planning, organisation, techniques, procedures and hazard anticipation
involved in search and recovery diving.
- Limited visibility diving and underwater navigation techniques
- Proper techniques and safety consideration for object location,
including use of various search patterns lines and reels.
- Techniques and safety considerations for recovery of objects using various lifting devices
Designed For
To qualify as a Search and Recovery Diver you must be at least 15 years old and possess a PADI Advanced Open Water diver, certification or equivalent.
Length
Usually over at least 2 days. Locations for this course include Portland, Stony Cove, Wraysbury, and the Red Sea or at another Big Squid overseas destination.
Cost
Training in the UK £225 (PADI Search and Recovery specialty manual, tanks, weights and all equipment)
Training abroad: £135 (includes PADI Search and Recovery specialty manual, tanks, weights and all equipment)
