| The PADI Rescue diver course teaches you
the skills needed to respond to a diving emergency situation. Learning
how to observe and assist other divers in difficulty is an integral
part of the padi rescue diver course. |

| The PADI rescue diver course is divided
into 3 sections |

| Knowledge development |
| Self rescue, diver stress, diving first aid, emergency
management and equipment considerations. |
| Confined water training |
| Deal with a panicked diver, methods of in water
resuscitation, equipment removal and transportation whilst resuscitating.
|
| Open water training |
| Practicing rescue skills in the open
water. For example: underwater search patterns and rescuing
an unconscious diver. |

To enroll on the padi rescue diver
course You should be fit and healthy as there is plenty of action
.To undertake this course you will need to possess a current First
Aid and CPR qualification. If you don't have one or it is about to
expire the PADI Emergency First Response course
as taught by Big Squid will satisfy these requirements. It is also
necessary to possess an Open water diver qualification or equivalent. |

The PADI rescue diver course can be taken in 2 ways. The
flexible option and the
regular option. The Regular option involves a Sunday
afternoon theory session 13.30-17.30 and a Sunday evening
Pool session 19.30-21.30 (see the
dates page.) The theory section and pool diving section
of the rescue diver course take place at either the Clapham
leisure center London SW4 or the Latchmere
leisure center, Battersea London SW11
The Flexible Rescue diver option involves some home study
with a manual and dvd or video and one Sunday evening exam
and pool session 18.00-21.30 (see the list
of flexible evening dates) both options require 2 full
days of rescue scenario training in the open water.

| On your PADI Rescue diver course you
will be trained by one of the Big
squid team and will need to attend 2 days of open water
training sessions either in the UK or abroad. Regular London
rescue diver open water locations include Wraysbury,
(near London) Portland,
Stoney
Cove , you can use any big squid foreign
trip to complete your course. |
