The most popular diving course in the world is the PADI Open Water Diver Course This is the first level of PADI certification. For any one with an interest in scuba diving,

 

Section 1: Knowledge development and pool dives (otherwise known as the Padi open water referral course) £225

The PADI Open Water Referral course can be completed in 2 ways, the most straightforward way is to attend one of our weekend courses at Clapham Leisure centre, London SW4. They run from 9-5 on Saturday and Sunday, You will find the dates for weekend courses here

FLEXIBLE EVENING COURSE £225

Alternatively you can complete the PADI Open water Referral course on our flexible evening schedules that run on Sunday and Thursday evenings at Clapham Leisure centre, London SW4.and at the Latchmere leisure centre in Battersea , London SW11. You will need to attend 4 sessions (possibly 5 depending on your ability) and typically would complete the course in a month. You will find the dates for the flexible courses here .

 

Section 2: Four Qualifying dives in the open water £175 ( this takes one weekend)

COST

The cost of the PADI Open Water Referral course is £225 This includes use of all equipment, your PADI Open Water Diver manual, logbook, dive tables and dive table manual. There is a £20 refundable deposit to be paid on booking, for the course DVD which should be returned to us on completion of the course , there is also an option to purchase this DVD

All Big Squid courses operate with a maximum ratio of 5 students to 1 instructor

We are patient, if you are unable to complete your course during the allotted time you can come back to complete on other sessions at no extra cost

When you come to convert your referral into full qualification you will need to complete four Open Water qualifying dives within a year of completing your referral. You can complete these qualifying dives with Big Squid . Big Squid open water qualifying dives (dates here) are either taken at Wraysbury near Windsor, (only a 45 minute drive from central London) or in Portland Dorset .

COST OF QUALIFYING DIVES

If you completed your open water diver referral certificate with Big Squid the cost is £175. This includes 4 dives in the open water all equipment and certification it does not include transportation to the dive sites or site entry fees or boat and accommodation fees where they may apply You may also qualify on one of our Big Squid Holidays abroad when you do this the cost of the open water qualifying dives is reduced to £110.

If you completed your open water referral certificate with another scuba diving school the cost is £215. If it is some time since your referral we recommend you enroll on a big squid Refresher course

INDEPENDENT QUALIFYING DIVES

When you have completed the four qualifying dives you will be a fully qualified diver and will receive a certification card carrying your photograph. This qualification is recognized worldwide and you will be required to produce it when participating in scuba diving activities.

You can complete your qualifying dives on your travels at any PADI diving centre worldwide , we will give you advice on this.

payment can be paid by card over the phone 020 7627 0700 or as a cheque sent in the post with the booking form

you will need to be able to complete a 200 metre swim and 10 minutes of treading water .

When you enroll on a course with us you will have to complete a medical questionnaire if you answer yes to any of the questions on it then you will have to take a medical form to your Doctor and get their permission to dive. if you answer no you will not. JUNIOR DIVERS  

Ages from 10-15 years can complete the Junior PADI Open Water diver course which is essentially the same course but with depth and supervision differences
