PADI Divemaster Course

Looking for the first step in working with scuba as a career? Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster course. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level.

PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite certification for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.

What You Learn

During the PADI Divemaster course, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems as well as help others improve their improve their scuba. You will put this knowledge into action through a structured internship or series of practical training exercises.

What you need

To enrol on the Big Squid PADI Divemaster course you should: be 18 years or above have all your own diving equipment , excluding cylinders and weights , if you fall slightly short on the diving requirements please give us a call and we will discuss ways for you to dive locally with us to build up your experience.

You need to certified as a PADI Rescue Diver or the equivalent from another diver training agency. have a minimum of logged 40 dives.

Location

We use private pools in Dulwich, Streatham Battersea and Richmond and you will need to attend open water training sessions locations include Wraysbury, Portland, Stoney Cove , Vobster Quay you can use any big squid UK trip or Foreign trip to work towards completing your course.

Combine with

While on your Divemaster course with Big squid we offer you the opportunity to take PADI specialty courses , which we run on scheduled dates for a cost of £50 each. When you accumulate 5 specialty ratings you will certify as a Master Scuba Diver. This is the highest non professional PADI rating. The specialties we recommend for UK diving are

Duration

Usually you should allow a minimum of 3 months.

Completion

You will be required to provide a medical statement stating that you are fit to dive and will have completed 60 logged dives.
